A new definition

For this new collection, we were looking for authenticity to sublimate our values. So we made it our guideline to completely rethink our candles, and the name of the collection naturally followed. Our 3 pillars are the quality of the raw materials, the durability of the materials and the beauty of simplicity.

- The quality of the raw materials: for us, a candle is a minimum of ingredients, i.e. wax and perfume. Concerning the wax, we opted many years ago for vegetable wax, a mixture of soya and coconut. Thus, you will not find in the composition of our candles, mineral wax derived from petroleum like paraffin, or beeswax. For the perfumes, we work exclusively with the Parfumeurs de Grasse, a guarantee of quality and Made in France. For this collection, we asked them to work on direct notes, i.e. faithful to reality.

- The durability of materials: the choice of container is essential when we think about new products. In this case, beyond aesthetics and practicality, we were looking for durability. We opted for amber glass, echoing the resistant and infinitely reusable apothecary's flasks. So once your candle is finished, you can take the jar and lid and give them a new purpose.

- Beauty in simplicity: whether it is in the evocation of the fragrances, their fragrant notes or in the choice of the amber pot, our candles bear witness, they call upon components that each of us knows. Thus a Violet candle will really smell like a violet and a Fig de Provence candle will be faithful to the scent of the fig. From then on, these direct evocations do not leave us indifferent, so it is this beauty in simplicity to which we aspire.

100% French manufacturing

From the choice of raw materials to the dispatch of the candles, we have chosen to make them in France, and if possible in Provence.

The perfume concentrates are made in Grasse, Made in Provence. For the labels we have used French manufacturers, and for the wax and the wick, our supplier is based in the same department as us.

For the rest, everything takes place in our workshops in Saint Auban sur l'Ouvèze. We did the formulation tests in our laboratory on small series of candles, then we launched larger series in our adjoining factory.

Each candle is cast by hand, which means that no machines are involved in the manufacturing process, from weighing the ingredients to screwing on the lid and placing the wick. This method is a guarantee of quality craftsmanship and illustrates the care we take with our candles.

The collection of scented candles "Les Authentiques" symbolises the identity of Le Chatelard.

And of course, one of them is an Authentique Lavande de Provence candle!
