Recipe Idea #1: Lavender Ice Cream
Lavender is an indispensable plant in many fields. We know it as an essential oil, as flowers, as a perfume... we can also cook it when its food quality is good. You will find the recipe for Lavender Ice Cream that we recommend you prepare with our Lavender Angustifolia Superblue with its irresistible colours and flavours.
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons of Edible Lavender flowers (which you can find here)
- 500 ml whole milk
- 250 ml of liquid cream
- 150g sugar
- Optional: purple colouring
Steps
The day before, boil the milk with the sugar in a saucepan. Remove from the heat and add the Cooking Lavender flowers. Leave to cool and infuse for 24 hours in a cool place. The next day, whip the liquid cream and filter the infused milk. Mix the milk and the cream. The mixture becomes liquid, which is quite normal! Add the colouring, if you want a blue ice cream! Put the mixture in a blender or in your ice cream maker and follow the instructions of the program.
